Isolation-A Poem by Aunidan Christi

Isolation.
-------------

Empty streets and empty parkways,
now playgrounds for the birds and wildlife,
as if humankind has been taken from the Earth,
wildlife now rules the roost as the evil influence they call the corona virus controls all on Earth.
The Sun still shines in isolation,
as do the Moon and Stars,
lucky are they above the crisis unfolding below.
Come nighttime all goes quiet like never before as isolation once more goes dark.

I take comfort in the beauty of the Moon who smiles down on me as I take her photograph,
an old friend silent and majestic,
but as for the Sun,
he seems to tease all who are isolated indoors,
begging some to break the rules to come out and play with him,
but foolish are those risking life for a few moments of Sunlight.
